We are very pleased to announce VW Touareg as our new vehicle partner, these are truly great towing cars which perfectly compliment our nomadic training and competition shedule.

Recently we went on a Touareg unlimited driving day at silverstone. This was a lot of fun ripping around the track and taking on some near impossible off road obstacles. Have a look at our video from this day.

The Inside Information dvd has been made with the Laser SB3 filmed durring the SB3 Euro cup in France with some specialist coaching from Mark Rushall we finally got to grips with racing these boats to win a race which is featured on the dvd.

Unfortunately our experience's durring Cowes week were not as good, with 90 odd boats on the start line we struggled a bit and despite a small come back on the last beat we finished in the 60's ! This is a really competitive class and one that is booming on and off the water. After the race we had the pleasure of sailing with, 3 day eventing olympic medallist, Mary King who is also supported by the VW Touareg, she proved quite a natural on the helm and seemed to enjoy her experience as she drove the SB3 down wind, with kite up, in 20 knots of wind !

The Volkswagen Touaregs association with sailing is causing much excitement, and the synergy is obvious a powerful engine and a powerful rig!

The Volkswagen Touareg, is a powerful 4x4 that combines exceptional on and off-road capabilities with uncompromising luxury not to mention its superb control and power while towing.

Towing your boat is easy with a Touareg. Its excellent range of diesel and petrol engines (including the award winning 5.0 litre V10 TDI, one of the most powerful diesel engines in the world) provide the torque required to pull loads of up to 3,500 kilograms.

However, its no use towing your boat to the water and not being able to launch it. Thankfully the Touareg delivers in this regard too. The Touareg can wade through water of up to half a meter deep (rising to 580mm with optional air suspension) and its Hill Hold Assist function makes launching from steep slopes a doddle.

These capabilities, along with its overall off- and on-road performance, make the Touareg the perfect car to meet the needs of those involved in sailing events. For this reason the Touareg will once again be the official vehicle of the 2006 Skandia Cowes Week and also, for the third consecutive year, the Laser SB3 class.
